Merebrook Infant School is a 2-form entry Infant School in the heart of Furzton. We are in a Hard Federation with Emerson Valley Junior School and I am immensely proud to be the Executive Headteacher of both of these fantastic schools.
In our Merevalley Federation, we encourage all of our children to aspire to be independent, resilient, lifelong learners who have the skills to adapt to the changing world around them. They have respect for each other, themselves and our community. To be the best they can be as global citizens, we aim to develop socially aware individuals who understand the impact they can have on others.
Our children are happy and develop a love and enthusiasm for learning, where they are challenged to their full potential. They have pride in everything they do from their relationships, to the effort they put in to achieving their goals. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where children’s mental health and well-being is at the heart of our Federation. We were most recently visited by OfSTED in October 2022 and were graded as a GOOD school. The published report, which you can view in the ‘Key Information’ section of this website, states that ‘Pupils behave very well’ and that ‘Behaviour is routinely excellent’. The team at Merebrook are very proud that the behaviour of the children in our school community has been recognised.
We are also delighted that the report reflects that everyone involved in our school is committed to our school values: ‘Community, Pride, Aspire’, and that as a school we are ‘Committed to developing pupils personally as well as academically’. The report is a true testament to the dedication of every single member of staff to ensure that every child at Merebrook school achieves their absolute best.
I hope that you find our website informative. If you have any questions about our school then please do not hesitate to contact our school office for further information.
Mrs Hayley White
We have designed our ambitious curriculum to challenge all our pupils regardless of their individual needs and life experiences.
At our Federation we use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the National Curriculum 2014 as our reference points in creating a broad and balanced curriculum.
We'd love to hear from you, use our online form and one of our staff will get in touch asap, need to chat instead why not call Merebrook on 01908 522876 and we will help you as best we can.
Forest school is an inspirational learning experience offered to all pupils at Merebrook.
Forest school provides opportunities for pupils to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in the natural environment.
We strive to engage the children of today to protect the planet of tomorrow.
Merebrook is proud to be an Eco School. Eco Schools is an international award programme which encourages our pupils to take responsibility for, care and respect our future environment. Our pupils are encouraged to use their environmental knowledge in the everyday life of the school and local community.
At Merebrook we are fully aware of the pressures on parents, particularly working ones, to adapt their day to that of the school day. We have links with Treetop Childcare to take that stress away from parents and to provide children with a safe and fun-filled environment at the beginning and end of their school day.
We offer an onsite breakfast and after school club designed to support working parents who need childcare outside of school hours. The wrap around care at Merebrook is provided Treetop Childcare.
In addition to the wrap around are we are keen to ensure all pupils have an opportunity to take part in a wide variety of sports and special interest clubs after school. Every term a new timetable of varied clubs from football through to musical theatre, street dance, arts and crafts and many more can be booked by parents.
